Who We Are: A Family of Faith and Community

Our Identity as a Family

At Shallowater Church of Christ, we embrace the belief that we are a family. As a family, we share our lives together: our joys, our sorrows, our victories, and our defeats.

Devotion to God’s Word

We are devoted to God’s word and do our best to live in obedience to that word as revealed in Scripture.  For example, the early church practiced the Lord’s supper every week when they met together, so we do the same. We strive to please Him in our worship and in our service to one another and to our neighbors.

A Family of Love

Our desire is to be known as a family of love: love for God, love for one another, and love for our fellow man. This love is the bedrock of our interactions, guiding us in our mission and outreach efforts within the community. We invite you to join us in this mission, as we grow together in spirit and in truth.

What to Expect

Each Sunday, we have Bible classes for all ages at 9:30 am.  For adults, we have a class that meets in the auditorium and a discussion based class for parents and adults of all ages, the “Family Builders.”

Our worship assembly on Sundays is at 10:30 am, beginning with announcements and updates on Church family news. We begin our worship time with a prayer, enthusiastic a capella congregational singing, communion, and inspiring preaching. Approximately every other Sunday during the school year, one of the congregation’s four Barnabas groups takes a turn hosting a potluck meal after the Sunday morning worship time. We invite you to visit any time and even enjoy lunch with us on many Sundays.
